The matriarch Dolores loses herself in clichés while their father August pursues his stereotypical role as breadwinner. When Dolores has to spend a long time in hospital for inexplicable reasons, her father takes over the running of the household and is not only overwhelmed with the two adolescent girls. Madi tentatively begins to question her mother's upbringing and discovers her sexuality. The baptism for a new life takes place in the bathtub at home, the Madonna is washed clean and a church group of girls dances the demise of childhood. The unusual heroine Madi grows towards the light. MATADORAS was awarded Best Film at the Bundesfestival Junger Film and received the prize for Best Medium Length Film at the Achtung Berlin!
