In this documentary we follow four people in Berlin - three men and a woman – who live their daily lives under the sign of drug addiction. We see how they buy, prepare and consume their drugs and how they suffer from withdrawal symptoms. We get to know how first hand what it really means to be an addict. The German word “Sucht” (addiction) comes from the word “Siechen”. It means “being very ill”. But on the other hand the word “Sucht” in German sounds like “to search for something”. The film explores the question of what it means to be an addict in our world. “All men seek happiness. This is the motive of every action of every man, even of those who hang themselves.” (Blaise Pascal)
