The film is a journey into the soul of men, of incomparable folk music and the 'old' America that will soon disappear. The story follows Folk and Blues singer Jon Konrad (who also goes by the name "Possessed by Paul James"). Jon goes on tour from Texas to Louisiana to earn money for his unborn first child. On his journey he meets up with soul brothers, honky tonk owners and religious outsiders. Together they philosophize about their doubts, dreams and demons. As Jon's friend Scott Biram put it: "We find comfort in sharing our pain."
