Timeless: Pia Frankenberg

Pia Frankenberg's films are set away from clear certainties. What counts are not the statements about our world, but the world as it presents itself to us in its chaotic confusion. After two short films and two feature-length films, "Never Sleep Again", which was released in 1992, is her last feature film as a director for the time being. In retrospect, her films are characterized by the fact that they tell the story of their time without elevating themselves above the events and situations, the experiences of their protagonists. They are documents that have retained a topicality through the friction with the circumstances and in this find an approach that is as personal as it is political. SOONER shows all of her films.
